It was made in Finland. The box is used looking. This beautiful pitcher is new, not used. It’s been behind glass in my breakfront for many years! It’s a stunning piece.
Göran Hongell, one of the pioneers of Finnish glass design, created his first Aarne bowl in the 1930s. The Aarne glassware set was awarded the gold medal at the Milan Triennale in 1964. Excluding a classic beauty, this glass belongs to the permanent collections of the Museum of Modern Art in New York. This pitcher is New old stock from my 30 years ago closed Scandinavian Design shop.
